DESCRIPTION

The Greening Law Group is a rapidly growing elite criminal defense law firm. We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking Discovery Specialist to join our team and provide superior customer service to help achieve our goals.

The ideal candidate will work directly with criminal defense attorneys, paralegals, and closely with the office manager. This individual will be responsible for assisting with cases, preparing discovery (which will include downloading videos, audio, photos and paper discovery from different formats), typing and modifying documents (such as setting notices and address changes), taking photos of arrest locations and preparing trial binders.

If a candidate is interested in pursuing a paralegal position, there is opportunity for upward growth. Additional administrative responsibilities will include answering phones, setting up appointments, and running small office errands and court runs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Completing internet downloads
• Task management
• Processing and filing DVD standard and expert discovery
• Trial binders (as needed)
• Answering phones
• Checking setting notices
• Taking crime scene photos (as needed)
• courthouse errands
• Transcribing and making notes on client videos
• Managing and updating the jury trial list
• Responding to internal messages regarding discovery
• Conducting court calls
• Answering client questions (if applicable, as appropriate)
• Setting appointments for clients (as needed)

This position will help you acquire applicable, real-world administrative skills and provide you with knowledge of the legal industry. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in the field and will be prepared to enter any fast-paced, high stakes work environment following your time in the position.

To excel in this role, you will display a passion for providing stellar client experience, extensive skills in operating various computer programs/software, and an interest in learning about the legal industry from an inside point of view. You should also show compassion and respect toward clients and coworkers alike and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.

REQUIREMENTS

Our requirements are pretty straightforward. To qualify you must:

• Have proficient knowledge of MS Office and strong computer literacy

Education:

• GED or Highschool Diploma
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• On-the-Job training offered
