The Greening Law Group is a rapidly growing elite criminal defense law firm. We are seeking a driven and ambitious Criminal Defense Lawyer to join our law firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in criminal cases, interpreting laws and advise clients about their legal rights and options, conducting thorough research, and presenting evidence in court. This individual will help build client relationships and provide an excellent customer experience for clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborating as a member of the Litigation department (based in College Station). This area of responsibility may include:

  • Making a top-notch first impression with potential new clients (PNCs)
  • Conducting phone appointments and interacting with clients in the office
  • Gathering information to determine a prospective client’s needs and appropriately quoting them for representation
  • Communicating with various courts in the area
  • Approving legal contracts (in collaboration with the Intake department)
  • Operating client management software
  • Writing briefs and conducting legal research
  • Appearing in court for hearings and trials
  • Managing your own docket and schedule appropriately
  • The ability to work well with people of diverse cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds

This position will help you gain extensive experience handling a wide variety of DWI/DUI cases. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in the field and will be prepared to enter any fast-paced, high stakes work environment following your time in the position. This is a long-term career opportunity with endless potential for growth.

To excel in this role, you will display a passion for criminal law, a strong understanding of litigation strategies, exceptional public-speaking skills, and a keen interest in becoming our firm’s DWI expert. You should also show compassion toward your clients (irrespective of the crime they have been accused of) and coworkers alike and conduct yourself in a professional manner. Previous experience as a criminal lawyer will be advantageous, but is not mandatory to excel in this role.

REQUIREMENTS

Our requirements are pretty straightforward. To qualify you must:

  • Be licensed to practice law in Texas
  • Have two or more years of legal experience
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a strong desire to learn along with a professional drive
  • Display excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have proficient knowledge of MS Office and strong computer literacy
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
  • Be a self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Be comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to operate in an office environment (REQUIRED)
  • Embody empathy, resourcefulness, and drive.
  • Display extreme attention to detail
  • Exhibit excellent organizational abilities
  • Have a team-centric attitude
  • Focus on problem-solving and identify new opportunities for taking initiative

EDUCATION:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas, and in good standing
  • On-the-Job training offered

BONUS POINTS:

  • Native speaker or proficient in Spanish
  • Prior experience in the criminal defense industry
