Waco Drug Crime Defense Attorney
Contact Us to Retain a Proven Forensic Lawyer-Scientist
The War on Drugs is rampant in the United States, especially Texas. For decades, law enforcement officials have worked tirelessly to crack down on drug offenders and punish them with the maximum sentence possible.
As a result, you need an attorney who will work even harder to defend your drug crime accusations. However, you cannot just depend on anyone to protect your freedom; you need an attorney who is an American Chemical Society-CHAL (ACS-CHAL) Forensic Lawyer-Scientist, certified expert in criminal trial law and former prosecutor. It’s rare to find a lawyer who obtains these three qualifications, but at The Greening Law Group, our lead attorney has all these qualities and more.
The purpose of an ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist is to:
- use validated and legitimate science for the benefit of justice
- study the science and apply it legitimately in the courtroom
- expose invalid or non-validated science and use valid science in the courtroom
- eschew the smoke and mirrors techniques of old and embrace the science for the benefit of all
Thus, there is no better law firm to represent your drug charge case than The Greening Law Group. Unlike many lawyers, we can comprehend the science of the investigation against you and use it to strengthen your case. What Are Controlled Substances?
The Texas State Board of Pharmacy recognizes controlled drugs as those whose use and distribution are tightly controlled because of their abuse potential or risk. The Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) places drugs in schedules according to their abuse risk.
Schedule I: Has a high abuse risk and no safe or accepted medical use in the US. Examples include heroin, marijuana, LSD, PCP and crack cocaine.
Schedule II: Has a high abuse risk and safe and accepted medical uses in the US. These drugs can cause severe psychological or physical dependence. Examples include certain narcotic, stimulant, and depressant drugs as well as morphine, cocaine, oxycodone (Percodan®), methylphenidate (Ritalin®) and dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine®).
Schedule III, IV & V: Have a lower abuse risk than Schedule II and also have safe and accepted medical uses in the US. Schedule III, IV, or V drugs include those containing smaller amounts of certain narcotic and non-narcotic drugs, anti-anxiety drugs, tranquilizers, sedatives, stimulant, and non-narcotic analgesics. Examples include acetaminophen with codeine (Tylenol® No.3), paregoric, diazepam (Valium®), alprazolam (Xanax®), propoxyphene (Darvon®) and pentazocine (Talwin®).
Types of Drug Charges in Texas
