Melanie Bell
Though Melanie is originally from Fort Worth, Texas, she first came to the Bryan-College Station area to attend Texas A&M University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, with minors in Psychology and Public Health, in 2017. She then went on to Brooklyn Law School in New York where she became an Equal Justice America Fellow, a Brooklyn Law Students for Public Interest Fellow, and interned with the Legal Aid Society of New York City. Melanie also earned a Brooklyn Law School Gold Pro Bono Award for providing more than a thousand hours of Public Service Law work.
With a heart for service, Melanie chose to pursue a career as an attorney because she wanted to be a part of providing opportunities to individuals disadvantaged by our justice system. From Melanie herself: “I believe the job of a criminal defense attorney is to help give second chances and stand in the way of the mighty criminal justice system – to better our clients’ lives and our society as a whole. I look forward to striving towards that end each day.”
